Mouse won’t select text in outlook 2007
Mouse does not select or highlight text in outlook. This is common problem and many users suffer.
I had this issue couple of days back and I spend many hours surfing net and found solution this problem.
To solve this problem you will have two options. Either reinstall office product or delete one of the registry. I am sure you like to go with the option 2.
First of all click on start and click on RUN
In RUN type regedit and press OK
It will open Registry editor.
In registry expand
HKEY_Current_USER Software Microsoft Office 12.0 word
Now under Word you will see DATA folder. Right click on Data folder and click on delete.
Once this registery key is deleted. Reboot your computer
I know this is word key but in Microsoft there is always Magic….
Now open outlook and you should be able to select text within email.
Please leave comments if this solve your problem. This will help others.
Cheers.

ReplyDeleteI admit, I was skeptical, but this did it for me. I'm using Office 365, so I deleted the Data folder in Office/16.0. I've been living with this problem for years. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWell darn, I guess I spoke to soon. After using Outlook for an hour or two the problem resurfaces. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted!
